Mushrooms in September
September is the time for gathering mushrooms in Løvenholm forest.......
most of the mushrooms are not for dinner, only for good looks....
you might create a fine decoration upon moss
.... in the deep shadow of the forest........ at least I know
that the fungis to the left is a Panter-cap (Amanita pantherina)
and here was a sweet little coal tit.....
further description is on blog Flora and Fauna if you like...........
The landscape with large fields is typical for an area with manors.......
... and here are two of them, Løvenholm and Gammel Estrup....
(Løvenholm, description in blog: Church and Manor in Denmark)
...a fine avenue at the manor and an old horse-box in the field.......
..a village house and a church.........
one of few old mills and the new Vestas windmills
in the late afternoon on the last stop back home.......

Great post, Grethe! Love those mushrooms! The horse-box in the field, and the yellow house. I wish I was walking there this minute. Very nice.

Thanks Teresa! Sometimes I wish I lived in the country, but on the other hand would this be too inconvenient for me. But I have all of it inside my head. I love that green moss in the forest, and it is not in every forest I see it. It's like walking in a children's book by Beatrix Potter!
I love your story about the Bedouin.

Another wonderful walk with you in Denmark; I would so love to visit Denmark now after viewing your blogs. I love autumn for it's mushrooms but as I know so little about which ones are safe to eat they always remain just for looks. There are certainly so wonderful buildings in your area and I also love your countryside photos.
Thank you Marilyn! When I see the beautiful nature photos on your blog and on other blogs, I'm always so enchanted by nature's richness. I can never get tired of looking.
I only eat safe mushrooms from the vegetable shop! There have been some serious poisonings here, because some dangerous mushrooms look exactly like good mushrooms in the Far East, so people, who come to live here, have been fatally wrong.

Hi Grethe, I always enjoy seeing your views of Denmark...I like to search for wild mushrooms too, for photos, like you I'm too cautious to think of eating them. Loved the windmill.
