BHL - Information for everyone

BHL
Biodiversity Heritage Library

 - a great web-site with free access to endless information.

Inspiring discovery through free access to biodiversity knowledge.

The Biodiversity Heritage Library works collaboratively to make biodiversity literature openly
available to the world as part of a global biodiversity community.

BHL also serves as the foundational literature component of the Encyclopedia of Life

Maybe you know it already for it was launched in 2005, but it has developed through time. It is really a good website. Books and material from all over the world and from various periods in time. Fantastic information.

Have a good time !

Hello Steve and Carolyn, yes they have really done a great job scanning all those books from all over the world, even from my little country. I think I owe a thank you to especially the Smithsonian Institute. There are some fine and rare old books with water colours and drawings which you would not be able to see elsewhere. And it is so easy to find and use the material. They don't want you to have an account or a code or anything.

It's also fun to read the old-fashioned language in the books from late 1800s and beginning of 1900s. People are extremely polite to each other!

Cheers
Grethe.

(Kittie I didn't know that A-Z was a book. I thought it was a competition, so I did not follow. Mea culpa. )
