It was enchanting , a delicate fairy-tale cat, whose Siamese genes showed in the shape of the face, ears, tail, and the subtle lines of its body.  [...] She sat, a tiny thing , in the middle of a yellow carpet, surrounded by five worshippers, not at all afraid of us. Then she stalked around that floor of the house inspecting every inch of it, climbed up on to my bed, crept under the fold of a sheet and was at home.
 - Doris Lessing "On Cats."

I enjoyed this and the previous post. I haven’t had a cat and my dog, Lynne, passed away years ago. The most delight was to be welcomed back enthusiastically whenever I came back.

That's a fine combination, Yoko.
I'd like to live in a little cosy house in the countryside with a friendly dog and a funny cat, just an old woman with her hair in a bun and a shawl over her shoulders, taking care of her roses and lilacs in her lovely garden!
