Red Sand from Sahara.....

A hot wind blew up over Denmark with degrees of 22 celsius - and it brought more than heat, also fine desert dust. Many cars were powdered with dust the night between Friday and Saturday  and there was extra activity in the wash halls at the service stations.

The weather institut describes that there was a special weather phenomenon in some parts of the country - a special wind in Sahara made sand swirl high up in the atmosphere. It was brought by winds to North and Northwest Europe -  and it could only come down if it was raining. Since it has been raining each day the sand came down! The little fine layers of dust on the car window is a little reddish. The rain is called blood rain. The whole car was covered in this fine dust.

All the roses were destroyed in Yorkshire once! Sand from the Sahara came down as HAILSTONES!

Never would I have thought sand from the Sahara would end up in Denmark.

Hello Steve, that 's the closest I'll ever come to Sahara! We are in October and it's still very mild today. It was record for October the other day with 22 degrees C. And 138 years since it was that hot in October.

Hej Gerry, I thought it might have happened before in Northwest Europe - and Denmark is just a little coffee-spot among all those countries.
Gerry, the colours on the market are so fine, the pumpkins and the chrysanthemums and everything. And they have began selling Christmas decorations!

Michael and Hanne, Wow, it can be worse then! It is so strange I have never heard about this before. I can imagine the roses could not survice this. You've had to cut them down anyway.
Ka' I ha' det godt!

Hej Wanda, it's so nice to see you.

Yes, I was so surprised, I never knew and did not believe it until I saw the car filled with that reddish dust all over. It is strange. I'll never go to Sahara like all the other friends around me, but Sahara came to me! Except the camels!

I hope you are well.
